EVALUATION & METRICS

Evaluation Framework & SIIFI Metrics

Understand the independent evaluation process, the meaning of published records and the distinction from official JCR metrics.

How evaluation works

  1. Application — A publisher submits journal identity and supporting information.
  2. Under Evaluation — The single authorised Master Admin assesses the application and may publish its pending status.
  3. Evidence and methodology — Eligible journal information and evidence are considered under the applicable SIIFI methodology.
  4. Publication — Authorised evaluation results identify the metric name, actual evaluation year and public status.
  5. Certificate — Where issued, a certificate is associated with the correct published evaluation and verification record.

Metric interpretation

Journal results must distinguish metric values from current workflow status. A previously published annual metric must never be presented as a newly calculated metric for a later, still-pending year.

Independent metric distinction. SIIFI metrics are independent evaluation measures and are not the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) published through Clarivate’s Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

Methodology and limitations

Each published evaluation should reference its applicable method, version, evidence summary and year. Numerical weights, calculation formulas, thresholds and citation windows must not be inferred unless the corresponding methodology has been formally approved and published.

A detailed, approved numerical methodology has not been supplied to this development package. The application must not invent one.

Corrections and revocations

Any corrected or revoked evaluation should be clearly labelled with a traceable record. An invalid or revoked certificate must not be represented as currently valid.

Fees and independence

Any evaluation fee covers the specified evaluation service and cannot guarantee a favourable metric or certificate.
